About Avanti
Avanti is an award-winning social enterprise established in March 2010. Avanti’s Learning
Centers provide low-income high-school students a world-class science and mathematics
education and help them gain admission to India’s top engineering schools. Our centers have no
trained teachers and very little conventional lecturing. In their place, we focus on teaching
students how to learn from books and their peers – resources that are more abundant,
accessible and consistent in quality. This year, Avanti will work with over 500 students in 8
Indian cities. We are a small team with 30 full-time employees. Avanti is supported by among the
most reputed organizations in the development sector including PanIIT Alumni India, Stanford
BASES Social E-Challenge, Echoing Green, the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation and Ashoka.
