Role Specific Responsibilities
Working as a member of the Business Solutions Shared Services Development organization within the Global Office of Information Management, the Mobile HTML5 Development Manager will be partnering with Mobile Architects and other Application Architects on implementing Mobile Applications for multiple hand held platforms (Ex: iPhone, iPad, Blackberry,Android) acrossGlobal Deloitte. The successful candidate will have experience delivering mobile apps running on smartphone and tablet devices and be intimately familiar with both hybrid architectures such as PhoneGap leveraging HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and one or more of the leading mobile web frameworksSencha Touch, Titanium, or jQuery Mobile.
Develop mobile apps efficiently (Hybrid Mobile apps using HTML5 and hybrid containers, as well as Native Mobile apps using iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry applications)
- Partner with mobile architects and other application architects to help prove out mobile concepts and strategies
- Mentor other development teams in Mobile technology and delivery
- Participate in design review activities, and performs design reviews to ensure alignment to the architectural approach
- Maintain relationships and collaborates with architects in other Enterprise Architecture domains including infrastructure, security and business domains
- Collaborate with Mobile COE’s with other Member Firms and ensures consistent approach to Mobile development
- Identifies technical, human resource and business process implications of future product offerings and enhancements
- Envision new technical capabilities and common applications components. Contributes to business case development associated with technology investment needs
- Maintain relationships with strategic vendors to understand offerings and roadmaps
- Participates in technology selection efforts
The key skills required
- Minimum of 8 years of software development experience with strong hands-on skills, solid understanding of architecture and design patterns
- Minimum 2 years HTML5 experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing mobile applications for both smartphones and tablets
- Implementation experience with one or more of the leading mobile web frameworksSencha Touch, Titanium, or jQuery Mobile
- Experience with one or more JavaScript MVC or MVVM framework such as Backbone.js or Knockout.js is required.
- Experience consuming and creating REST services
- Experience with .net and c#
- Seasoned candidates will distinguish themselves via professional app development experience, referencing apps they built which are available in Apple’s app store or Google Play
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical fieldan accredited college or university
- Working knowledge of UML concepts and Agile methodologies such as SCRUM a plus
- Proven track record of delivery and client-orientation
- Motivated self-starter with solid time management skills
- Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
Education
University degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
Experience: 10 to 14 years
