HP Hiring BE/B.Tech Freshers for Software Engineer QA

• This position is responsible for creating and executing test plans for the Support Pack for the HP Microsoft Analytics Platform.
• The functions performed by the support pack include:
• Ensuring the correct firmware and drivers are installed on the appliance
• Pinging the various components of the appliance to identify issues
• Generating an .xml  detailing the appliance hardware configuration
• A successful set of test plans will be createdthe perspective of the user of the Support Pack.
• These test plans should ensure that the Support Pack works as intended.
• These test plans should also ensure that the Support Pack responds well to incorrect usage (e.g. incorrect password).

• Create and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases
• The Support Pack team is using the Agile methodology and detailed requirements are discussed in Scrum meetings instead of detailed documentation.  The person in this role needs to attend 2-3 Scrum meetings per week.  There may also be selected other meetingsthe person in this role will need to attend. The current Support Pack team is distributed across the US, so the meetings will likely be night time calls for the India time zone.
• Communication of defects with detail.  Defects will be updated in AgileManager

• System level knowledge - ProLiant, Storage, Network, firmware, drivers
• Windows Server
• Hyper-V
• Windows Failover Clustering
• PowerShell - automation concepts
• QA processes and concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Need to create test cases (requires understanding of requirements through conversation and communication of test cases and results)
• Teamwork  - Support Pack team uses the Agile process
• Self-motivated  must be proactive and driven to add value
