HR Head for Manufacturing Company

The role is the key HR contact for the General Manager, Manufacturing and provides HR support to manufacturing facilities in Canada (2) and the US (1).

The position plans, directs, and coordinates human resource management activities for all three manufacturing facilities to maximize the strategic use of human resources in accordance with established practices and in support of HR strategies. These activities include, but are not limited to, performance management, succession planning, employee development, recruitment and selection, and communication. The role additionally maintains functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.

Key Position Accountability

• Provides effective Human Resources advice and counsel to employees/managers and manufacturing leadership to ensure effective problem resolution and compliance with applicable provincial/state legislation and with the company’s standards of business practices and core values • Supports and participates in the manufacturing strategic planning process • Understands function and site goals to ensure the organizational structure is effective and supports goals and plans; supports leaders in planning headcount • Facilitates effective performance management by ensuring objectives and targeted development plans and performance action plans are set • Provides effective and efficient recruitment support, coaching and guiding managers through the process • Supports total rewards program administration • Partners with business leaders to ensure that succession supports the development of employees and function/site goals • Supports employee and management development and team building needs • Manages and administers HR policies for manufacturing
