Test Architect

Work with the Product Development team to define the strategy to cover all aspects of test automation, test environment configuration, test data setup, performance and security testing, usability, manual exploratory and regression testing

Responsible for formulating and developing effective test architecture as per business needs

Help to ensure solutions satisfy business objectives and customer needs

Proactively seek to assess test coverage of automated regression packs and priorities and focus automation test resource in the areas that will yield most benefit across the product suite

Responsible for leading the evaluation and selection of new tools, technologies and frameworks as appropriate to support all aspects of the testing function including non functional

Collaboration with all disciplines involved in product development is a key requirement to understand business requirements and work with solution architects to design and implement appropriate technical solutions

Ensure testability of newly developed solutions

Responsible for definition of test strategy and test plans for new projects and initiatives

Responsible for mentoring and coaching testers in all aspects of the discipline

Quickly acquire an in-depth knowledge of the product suite to focus test resource appropriately

Act as a subject matter expert for software testing standards and processes

Contribute to staff development and appraisal processes

Continuously improve and measure the effectiveness of initiatives introduced to the teams’ practices with a focus on efficiency and quality

Be a key member of the product team assisting with reviews and status of release test progress 

They work with multiple teams, which are remote and are in different time zones as required.

Skills and Experience:

Solid background in acceptance test automation using a range of tools and technologies with an ability to coach, mentor and upskill teams in automation approaches

Extensive background of testing including functional, manual exploratory testing, non-functional and automation in web, mobile and tablet. Experience in Set top box and Smart TV testing is advantageous

Experience of defining performance test strategy and implementing the necessary environments to execute performance testing

Experience in defining and building the necessary environments to adequately test a system/product

Solid understanding of non-functional testing

Experience in risk based testing

Demonstrable understanding of software architecture and construction

Wide experience in selection and implementation of test tools

Advanced understanding of product development processes

Ability to draw key metrics and compile regular reports for stakeholders

Ability to work at all levels of the organization
