The Fashion Business Channel (FBC) is looking for a candidate who can find suitable images and pictures to use in a wide range of media including content articles, social media pages, and images for the website. FBC is looking for someone who will be able to liaise with various other publications in terms of sourcing images from a legal point of view to avoid any copyright infringement, and give the required credit to the images, which will be taken from other sources.

Main Responsibilities:

• Sourcing appropriate pictures and images for weekly articles, social media pages and for the company’s website,
• Keeping up to date with rules and regulations in context with the use of images,
• Working closely with the content writers, editors, photographers and graphic designers,
• Making sure all images used are legal in every possible way and paying detailed attention to permissions and copyright infringement,
• Obtaining correct caption and credit information,
• Working closely with the photographer to create a bank of images to be used for future content,
• Working closely with the photographer and deciding upon which images need to be shot, sourced or created on Photoshop (deciding when to use existing images or to commission an outside photographer)
• Exploring all picture sources including online image banks and stock photo library
• Undertaking relevant research

Ideal Candidate:

Must have:

• Visual arts qualification (photography/publishing)
• Excellent picture knowledge in terms of posting images online
• Strong research skills
• Negotiation skills
• Problem solving skills
• Communication skills
• Knowledge of the fashion industry and where to source pictures
• An understanding of media and copyright law
