Job Description – Frontend Developer
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
2. Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
3. Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
4. Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
5. Create and maintain software documentation
6. Code responsive cross browser compatible designs.
7. Write codes for mobile specific designs.
8. Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling the site
9. Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
10. Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
11. Assists in defining software architectures – Collaborates with leads to explore existing systems, determines areas of complexity, potential risks to successful implementation, learns the applications capabilities
12. Translates designs and style guides provided by the UI/UX team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance
13. Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interface, software architecture or new technologies
14. Regular exposure to business stakeholders and executive management, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems.
15. Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.
 
Skills & Requirements
 
1. Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
2. Highly skilled at front-end engineering using Object-Oriented JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks (jQuery, Angular, Prototype, Backbone), HTML and CSS
3. A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
4. Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc .) is needed.
5. Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
6. Well-versed in software engineering principles, frameworks and technologies
7. Excellent communication skills
8. Self-directed team player who thrives in a continually changing environment
9. Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
10. Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
11. Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Photoshop and Illustrator
12. Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation process
13. Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
14. Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
15. Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
