ETL Informatica developer job Karaikudi

Job Summary

The ETL developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing new/modifications to the Statutory, Vendor, and Batch Feeds utilizing ETL (Informatica) processes.  Activities will involve participating in Business Requirements review, assistance with system specifications, development of technical specifications, development of code changes in Informatica, unit testing and implementation in production. The developer must follow the defined Informatica development standards and best practices and attend code reviews to assure compliance. 

Responsibilities:

The ETL developer's responsibility is to ensure that the goals of the business with regards to data management are met.

Plan, coordinate, develop and support EDW development including architecting table structure, building ETL process, documentation, and long-term preparedness

Define Technical Approach documents (define calculated logic, process flow, etc.)

Provide production support of existing ETL processes

Document steps needed to migrate database objects between various environments including Development, UAT, Staging, and Production

Document ETL process thoroughly to allow peers to assist with support as needed

The ETL developer has a full understanding of each step in the ETL process and can write ETL mappings/workflows with scripts, packages, mappings, etc. (depending on the tool).

Analysis, development, QA, implementation, monitoring and administration of the ETL process.

Experience in Database development using DB2 and SQL Server.

Experience using a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology

Work with DBA’s to implement database changes

Stored Procedures/scripting knowledge

Implement, support and maintain data process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation and extraction.

Define and capture metadata and rules associate with ETL processes

Coordinate with program-level ETL architect to ensure compliance with standards and consistency with long-term infrastructure plans

Develop Extract, Transformation, and Load (ETL) procedures for implementing data integration and data loading tasks

Define, prepare and execute migration packages for new ETL objects

Develop SQL programs and Stored Procedures as required for the ETL processes and Data Integration activities

Maintain currency and provide leadership in the use of the newest technologies and techniques such as prototyping, component-based development, object-oriented design, database design, web tools and architecture.

Provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs

Desired Skills:

Strong SQL and data modeling skills required

Development Experience with Informatica ETL

5 years of solid Informatica experience

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Hands-on experience developing ETL programs using Informatica PowerCenter . In-depth understanding and development experience using SQL and PL/SQL

Prior experience providing support to technical teams for ETL processes, and experience developing unit test plans, test cases, and resolve ETL related test problems

Self-motivated with advanced extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) and programming skills
